Open Storage

Open plinths are selected with metalled roads away from flour mills and rice shellers. The anti - termite treatment given before storage to protect the stocks over the plinths from the termites which cause considerable damage to the wooden crates and stocks. The dunnage pre planning an building of stacks are done in the same manner as in the covered godowns. Each stack stored in the open is covered with the polythene covers to prevent the stocks from any kind of damage due to natural vagaries. The covers are tied with mash nets, which prevents the covers from blowing away. Regular aeration is being given to the stocks during the dry sunny days. The disinfestation treatment are given on the same pattern as in the case of covered storage, except DDVP which is not used in open storage.
